A: With accurate information, we an attempt to quickly place potential residents based on what their needs are & what we currently have available. Also to place them with other people they may have more in common with. We can assess their needs to see if and how we can get the additional assistance they may require to live with us on their own. Q: WHO NEEDS TO LIVE AT A BOARDING HOME?
A: Humble Homes is for older adults who are not able to fully live independently due to physical, mental & or even financial limitations. We assist residents with medication organization & reminders, access to healthy food & an instant family along with many other amenities.
Q: WHAT INFORMATION IS REQUIRED?
A: Proof of income, insurance provider, ID & pre-screening interview to assess needs mobility & alertness.
Q: IS THERE A DEPOSIT REQUIRED?
A: YES. $200 nonrefundable deposit plus 1st months full rent upfront or prorated rent $200 deposit plus a daily rate of $60 for remaining days of the month upfront.
Q: HOW MUCH IS THE RENT?
We have to prescreen then have in person interview to assess what residents will be needing plus what benefits they already receive before we can quote rates.
Q: DOES RENT INCLUDE UTILITIES?
A: Yes. Also furnished rooms, twin bed, dresser, locking nightstand, TV, sheets, pillow, bath towels & soap, toilet paper & laundry detergent.
Q: WHAT WILL I NEED TO BRING OR BUY?
A: Residents purchase their own hair, oral, deodorant & intimate care products. Weekly medication containers, laundry baskets & dirty clothes hamper, clothing and shoes.
Q: DOES THE RENT INCLUDE FOOD?
A: No. It CAN be included but food is purchased with residents’ monthly food benefits. We can assist with the application for food benefits, home delivered meals and other benefits with proper documentation such as award letter from social security office. If resident does not currently have or qualify for food benefits an $200 monthly food allotment is required with the rent & can be included as one with the rent. We do provide dinner and access to breakfast & lunch.
Q: DOES YOUR FACILITY PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION?
A: No. We are on DART Bus route. Residents typically get ride to doctors’ appointments through their insurance provider.
Q: CAN I HAVE A PRIVATE ROOM?
A: Private rooms are not cost effective for clients in a financially humble situation. A private room would be $1600 a month. For that amount, assuming you had decent credit & an additional $1600 deposit you could get your own apartment. Our rooms are very spacious.
Q: IS THERE A CURFEW?
A: YES. Clients are allowed to stay out overnight with family or friends if they wish. Our household & neighborhood is one to be respected. We cannot allow clients to disrupt our household by coming & going at all hours of the night. Monday - Sunday 10 PM & 11PM at the latest.
